Questions buyers ask us

How Fluenty prices work, how long projects take, how we communicate, and what happens after launch — answered plainly.

What does Fluenty do?
Fluenty is a Cape Town based software development company. We design, build, deploy and maintain custom web applications, SaaS platforms, cross-platform mobile apps, cloud infrastructure and AI features for South African and international businesses.
Who is Fluenty best suited to?
Founders taking an MVP to market, scale-ups that need a senior delivery team without hiring one, and enterprises that need extra engineering capacity or a partner to take over an existing product. We have delivered in fintech, healthcare, retail, proptech and education.
How much does a project cost?
We quote per engagement after a discovery conversation, because cost depends entirely on scope. Smaller website builds and MVPs are usually fixed-scope quotes, while longer product work runs on a monthly team rate so you can adjust scope as the product evolves. You get a written scope, timeline and cost before any code is written.
How quickly can you start and deliver?
We can usually start within two to three weeks. A focused website typically takes four to eight weeks; a custom web or mobile application typically runs three to eight months, with a first usable release much earlier because we ship in two-week iterations.
How do you manage projects and communicate?
Every engagement has a named product or project manager, two-week sprints, a shared board you can see at any time, a weekly written update and a demo at the end of each sprint. We work in your Slack or Teams channel so questions get answered the same day.
Are you actually based in South Africa?
Yes. Fluenty is based in Vermont, Cape Town, in the South African time zone, and we invoice in Rands for local clients. We work remotely by default and on site with Cape Town clients when it helps.
Do you offer maintenance and support after launch?
Yes. Most clients continue on a monthly maintenance and support retainer covering monitoring, security patching, cloud cost optimisation, bug fixes and ongoing feature work. We also take over and stabilise codebases we did not originally build.
Which technologies do you use?
React, React Native and TypeScript on the front end; Laravel, Node.js, Python, .NET Core and Java on the back end; AWS and Azure with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes and CI pipelines in GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
Do you build AI features?
Yes. Our AI engineers add practical AI to existing and new products — assistants, document and data extraction, search, recommendations and workflow automation — built on top of your own data rather than as a bolt-on demo.
Can you work alongside our in-house team?
Yes. A large share of our work is embedded delivery: our engineers, designers, DevOps specialists and QA testers join your existing team, use your process and hand over cleanly documented work.
How do we get started?
Send your project through the contact form or email vincent@fluenty.co.za. We reply within one business day and set up a discovery call to understand your goals, constraints and technical landscape.
